William Lockwood was born July 8th 1933 in Mount Vernon, NY, to William and Ethel Lockwood. He lived there till 1959 when he moved to Bayville, NY. He then moved to Oyster Bay in Spring of 1960 buying the house he lived in till passing away on July 13th, 2025. He was married to Elinor Kappus for 33 years with who he had four children. Found love again with Roxanna Swearington till her passing. Wonderful father to William, Theodore, Drew and Laura and great dad to adopted son Christopher.

He was a great adventurer, fishing for tarpon, hitch hiking across the country, flying a plane to Cuba with just a compass and a map, tri athlete. Worked for both Sperry Gyroscope and Grumman, helping to designs numerous radar and guidance systems for different aircraft like the F 14, F111, J-star, and the B 2 bomber. He lived a full life and will be greatly missed.

Family will receive friend Wednesday 4-7 p.m.
