As we deal with the coronavirus (referred to as COVID-19) the health and safety of the families we serve and those who wish to pay their respects is of the utmost importance. The Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home continues to monitor the latest updates as issued by the New York State Department of Health. The staff at the Funeral Home offers these helpful pieces of information: Proactive health and hygiene are a must. Proper handwashing, minimal contact, respiratory etiquette as well as staying at home when not feeling well are important attempts to reduce the spread of the virus. Hand sanitizer and tissues will be available as you enter/leave our facility. We urge members of the public who are sick with COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, or trouble breathing or those susceptible to infectious illness (those older adults or those with serious chronic medical conditions including lung disease, heart disease, diabetes) to refrain from attending large gatherings.Additionally, the funeral home has been thoroughly disinfected following all guidelines that have been provided to us. The funeral home will continually be disinfected during visiting and thoroughly disinfection in-between each visitation. We are asking people that intend to attend the wake to please pay your respects to the family, and not to remain at the funeral home. Please refrain as difficult as it might be from hugging and shaking hands with the family and each other.
