Stephen J. Borsari, of Garden City, died due to Alzheimer's on his birthday , April 4, 2020. He was 63 years old. Stephen grew up in North Babylon, NY within walking distance of Belmont Lake State Park, which he and his friends used as their backyard playground. At a young age, he delivered Newsday. Before graduating high school, Stephen worked at Beverage Barn in North Babylon, working his way up to Manager. After graduation, he continued to work full- time in order to afford his college night classes at Nassau Community College, earning his A.S. degree in Accounting. He was then accepted by Hofstra University and by his final year, he was able to become a full-time student and graduated with a B.B.A. in Accounting. Shortly after, he was hired by a prestigious accounting firm James D. Miller & Co. Stephen obtained his CPA license, passing each part the first time. He went from Accountant, to Manager, and then became Partner. His loyalty, technical competence and leadership over 32+ years contributed greatly to their success. He met his amazing wife Barbara on a blind date at age 16. They fell in love and have been married for almost 38 years. They had two children, Katherine (married to Alex) and Thomas (married to Dina). Jack, being the only grandchild, is thoroughly spoiled. Family vacations, cruising, and family time was vitally important. Their first house was in Bellmore and Stephen's dream from childhood was to live in Garden City. In 1993, his dream came true. Stephen was extremely handy and constantly worked on the house when he was not at work. Over the course of years, he renovated and completed many custom wood projects. One of his favorites was the custom playhouse designed for his children which has now passed down to his grandson Jack. Stephen had a great sense of humor and gave everything he had to his career and family. He would always say there are people who make things happen, watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened. He made things happen. A memorial will be held in the future.
