Dr. Ruth D. Peters passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023, at the age of 93. She was a pioneer and mentor of women in the medical field and an inspiration to all. One of the founding members at East Meadow Medical Group, Hicksville NY. Ruth attended Hunter College and received a scholarship to Women's Medical in PA. completing a fellowship in India and residency at Nassau County Medical Center, East Meadow, NY. Ruth volunteered on The Hope Ship and was long standing practicing Pediatrician. Ruth was devoted to her family and the love of travel and was an inspiration to all those who knew her, always setting the bar a bit higher to follow her dreams.

Loving mother of Ann (Rick) and the late Kathleen. Cherished grandmother of Christopher and Gavin (Erin) McNamara. Dear sister of Beatrice, Janice and the late Virginia and Marion. Ruth is also survived by loving many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home with entombment at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth's name to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
