Robert J. Barnett, Jr.,69, died unexpectantly July 15, 2021, due to complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at Nassau County Medical Center. He was born April 19,1952 in New York City. Bob was the 6th of 10 children born to Robert and Josephine Barnett. Bob graduated from St. Dominic High School, Oyster Bay, NY in 1970 where he played basketball.      Following graduation Bob became ill with schizophrenia which plagued him for his entire life. Despite his illness, Bob participated closely with his large family attending all family celebrations. He was always very caring and interested in all the news of his 29 nieces and nephews, asking about each one when he called. He eventually settled in Westbury, NY. A history buff, avid fan of the NY Mets and fervent follower of the TV show Jeopardy – he spoke with his brother Tom daily quizzing him on Jeopardy questions.      In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Christine Spalletta (2019) and Eleanor Devlin (2020) (Michael Devlin). He is survived by his sisters Jody Munhall (Donald Munhall -deceased 2021), Worthington, OH, Patricia Walsh (Gregory Walsh), Ft. Salonga, NY, Ann Massey (Thomas Massey), San Diego, CA, Kathleen Barnett, Naples, FL, and Jane Cammarato (Bernard Del Bello), Oyster Bay, NY, as well as his brothers John Barnett (Susan), Georgetown, DE, and Thomas Barnett (Marie), Dover, DE.      A viewing will be held at Devine Funeral Home, Oyster Bay, NY on Thursday, July 22. Visiting hours are 5 to 7 pm. A mass service in celebration of his life will be at St. Dominic's Church, Oyster Bay, NY on Friday, July 23, 10:30 am.
