IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reginald
Butt Jr,
February 21, 1938 – July 3, 2025
Reginald Butt Jr, age 87, lifelong resident of Oyster Bay, NY, less the 20 years he spent in the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer Radioman. Husband of the late Maryanne (DiLorenzo). Pre-deceased by his wife, parents, siblings and grandson RJ, he is survived by his children Reginald (Heather), Philip (Carolyn), Carmela, and Elizabeth Brown (David). Pop Pop to grandchildren Christopher Restrepo (Victoria), Abigail Monette (Alex), Anna Brown (Will Gilmore) and Mia Basso. Great grandfather to Asher and Oliver Restrepo and Oliver Monette. Many nieces and nephews and a list of friends too many to count, but many of whom we call family.
"Reggie" was known for his commitment to honoring our local veterans. He organized and lead both the Memorial Day and July 4th parades in Oyster Bay for 26 years, flagged veteran graves at our local cemeteries and community monuments, and lead Veteran's Day and December 7th events in town. A proud veteran he was a member of the American Legion, VFW, AmVets, Fleet Reserve Association, Forty & Eight, ANAVICUS (Army, Navy, Air Force Veterans In Canada US) and probably a few more we may have missed.
Family will receive friends and visitors at the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home 293 South St. Oyster Bay, NY 11771 on Sunday 7/13/25, from 3pm-7 p.m. Veteran walkthrough open to all veteran and non-veteran organizations beginning at 6:30pm followed by veteran chaplain prayer service.
Funeral Service Monday 7/14/25 10:30a.m. at the Funeral Home.
Interment to follow with Military Honors at the Memorial cemetery of St. John's in Laurel Hollow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a donation to your local veteran service organization, your local volunteer fire department, or any not-for-profit of your choosing.
