Peer Marchais (Pierre) died peacefully at his home of over 50 years in Oyster Bay on August 31st, 2026, at the age of 91. Pierre is survived by his wife Marilyn, daughter Linda (Richard), and son Donald, as well as his grandchildren, Katie, Nicole, Emily, and Brandon, and great-grandchildren Audrey and Danny. He started his own business while still in his early 20’s, “Pierre Marchais Tree Service”. Over the years, he was employed by some of the largest estates in the area, including Madam Chaing Kei Shek Estate in Lattingtown and many others on Center Island, Oyster Bay Cove, and surrounding areas. He was a member of the Oyster Bay Rotary in the 80’s and Rotary President from 83-84, as well as a past Mason at the Matinecock Lodge. Pierre always owned a boat and was a lifelong fisherman on the waters of the Long Island Sound. He won many awards for the “Biggest Fish” in multiple categories in the yearly Town of Oyster Bay tournaments. He taught himself to paint by watching Bob Ross on TV. Over 50 of his paintings hang in his home.
