Mrs. Baasch is survived by one sister: Bernice G. Barnes, R.N. of Wilmington, NC. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Graf of Easton, CT in 2010 and her sister, Dolores G. Healy, R.N. of Middletown in 2013, NJ. Her husband Robert, for fifty-two years died in 2002.
Mrs. Baasch has served in various branches of the medical profession since her graduation from Paine Hall, NY as a medical assistant and medical bacteriologist in 1939. She served in the Hospital Corps of the WAVES (USNR) in World War II as a Medical Technologist in the organization and functioning of the blood bank of the US Navel Hospital in Chelsea, Mass, from 1943 - 1945, and was honorably discharged from the USNH in Corona, CA 1945. She continued to work in the field of medical technology until 1950 when she trained to teach the natural sciences in the Ridgefield, NJ public school system and biology in the Uniondale, NY public school system, with subsequent retirement from Uniondale High School in 1977.
She has been a member of American Legion Post 4 of Oyster Bay, NY for over 20 years.

Interment with Military Honors to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.
