RAYMUND WU
Raymund Wu of Mill Neck, New York, beloved husband of Stella Leung Wu for more than 56 years, died on September 22 after a brief illness. Born to a merchant family in the ancient city of Chongqing, Sichuan Province, China, he was educated there and at the University of Shanghai, where he earned a degree in business administration. He came to the United States in 1955 with his wife and young daughter. Starting as a part-time accountant at Macy's Department Store, he eventually joined New York Life Insurance Company, where he had an illustrious career over 50 years, earning membership in the Chairman's Council, the company's top honor.
Mr. Wu was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table-the world's leading association of financial professionals and life insurance agents-for 45 years, a member of its Court of the Table, reserved for the most successful life agents in the world, and a board member of the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation, the organization's philanthropic arm.
Mr. Wu was a former President of the Chinatown Planning Council in New York City. He traveled extensively with his wife, children, and their families to China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and other parts of Asia.
He was devoted to his family. He leaves his wife Stella Leung Wu, daughter Marian Wu Howie and husband Robert L. Howie, Jr., his daughter Ann-Marie W. Hoher and husband Frank Hoher, and five grandchildren: Elizabeth Wu Howie, Alexandra Leung Howie, John Robert Raymund Howie, Madison Anne Howie, and Samantha Hoher.
Funeral Information
Family will receive friends at their home 316 Mill River Road Mill Neck 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral Mass Thursday 11:00 a.m. St. Dominic's R.C.Church. Interment to follow.
