IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Meredith Lee
Coleman
June 4, 1936 – February 4, 2025
Meredith (Merry) Lee Coleman June 4, 1936-February 4, 2025 Meredith Lee Coleman (nee Young), of Bayville, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family following a prolonged battle with bladder cancer. Beloved wife of the late Dennis Paul, she is survived by her four sons Kevin (Carly), Keith, Scott (Sandra) and Garrett (Carolyn) as well as her eight grandchildren Scottie, Samantha, McKenzie, Porter, Sophia, Caitlyn, Kellan and Kayleigh. She was the daughter of Albert and Grace Young (decreased) and leaves behind her brother Gordon and her sister Robin as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Merry was known to all as a kind and gentle person dedicating her life to the service of others. Her family moved to Massapequa when she was a young girl, living in a house built entirely by her father. After graduating from Farmingdale High School, she attended Wagner College as a nursing student. As a nurse she focused on home health visits, caring for those who were unable to care for themselves. She met her husband Paul, they married and raised 4 sons. In order to spend more time raising her sons, she left nursing and worked at Hendrickson Bus Company, driving children for over 30 years. She was devoted to Faith Lutheran Church in Syosset, where she volunteered for many activities including altar duty, chorus and the bell choir. There was never a soccer game or school play she did not attend and never an evening where there wasn't a meal waiting for her family at the end of the day.
