Obituary

Marie-Claire Pittis died peacefully at home on June 13 at the age of 96.  She was born in Geneva, Switzerland and shortly after WWII married Robert Pittis, Army Air Force Captain.  Marie-Claire and Robert made their home in Oyster Bay, NY where they raised their four daughters and Marie-Claire became an active member of the community.  She worked as an office manager into her early 80s, and gave generously of her time as a volunteer at the Oyster Bay Historical Society, Christ Church, the Presbyterian Church, and the Life Enrichment Center of Oyster Bay.  She is survived by three daughters:  Milicent, Trisha and Cynthia and their families, including five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was a strong, independent woman, and an inspiration to her family.  She will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Oyster Bay Historical Society or the Life Enrichment Center of Oyster Bay.
