Margaret Shay ("Shay") McConville of Locust Valley passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, lovingly surrounded by her family, including her children, siblings and partner.

Shay was born on Mother's Day, May 12, 1968, in Glen Cove, NY, the youngest in her family. She spent her formative years in Locust Valley, attending Portledge School, before moving to Palos Verdes, CA where she went to Lunada Bay School. Shay returned to Locust Valley and attended St. Dominic's High School before attaining her undergraduate degree at Curry College. After graduating from Curry, Shay worked for CAA in Beverly Hills and Revlon in Manhattan before attending C.W. Post to earn her master's in education. Shay was a devoted and loving mother to her children Kirsten Anne Scott and John Peter Scott. Shay was a beloved teacher in Locust Valley at St. John's of Lattingtown Nursery School and at Portledge School. Thereafter, Shay worked as an elementary school teacher for the North Shore School District in Glenwood Landing and Sea Cliff and as a Clerk for the Town of Oyster Bay.

Shay was a longtime resident of Locust Valley and, more recently, of Lattingtown Harbor where she and her children lived with her loving partner Drew McMahon and his children.

Shay was the beloved daughter of the late John and Margaret (nee Anfang) McConville and is survived by her children Kirsten and John; her partner Drew McMahon and his children Michael and Alexandra; her siblings, Robert (Bob) McConville, Elizabeth (Liz) McConville (Michael McGroarty), Michael McConville (Nicole Grandelli), and Janet Ryan (Joseph) as well as

multiple nieces and nephews, a grandniece, a grandnephew and one more on the way. She is also survived by her aunt Jean McConville, of Cleveland, OH, and her aunt Laura Anfang, of Chagrin Falls, OH, and many cherished cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Chapel of St. Dominic Church. A Trust has been established for the further education of Shay's children, and in lieu of flowers, donations will gladly be accepted to "Trustee of the Estate of Margaret Shay McConville," c/o Elizabeth A.
