MARGARET S. JOHNSTON

Margaret (known as Peggy) S. Johnston, of Locust Valley, NY passed on October 8, 2025 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Jimmie W. Sr. Loving mother of Debi J. Baker, Donna L., Laurence S. (Julie), and Gary C. Johnston; predeceased by her son Jimmie W. Johnston Jr. (Denise). Cherished grandmother of Megan (Sam) and Mark Baker, Zachary Qureshi, Ryan (Kaitlyn) and Matt, Jason (Grayson), Rudi and Luke Johnston. Loving great-grandmother of Simon and Eliza Koval and Margaret and Eleanor Johnston. Dear sister of Donald (May) McDougall, Cynthia Berry and Douglas (Alicia) McDougall.

Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A lifelong member of the Reformed Church of Locust Valley, she loved serving in her community through the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club, Locust Valley Library, Girl and Boy Scouts, and numerous church events/activities.

Her passions included quilting, camping, working in the yard, reading, and most of all spending quality time with her family.

Her kind heart, warm smile, gentle nature and caring spirit will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Visitation will be held at the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home Inc. 293 South Street, Oyster Bay, NY

Friday October 17 th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Funeral Service will be held at the Reformed Church of Locust Valley, 115 Ryefield Road, Locust Valley, NY

Saturday October 18 th 9:30am with interment to follow in the Locust Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Reformed Church of Locust Valley or

Grenville Baker Boys and Girls Club.
