It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Christina Albert, beloved
mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who left us peacefully on December 13, 2024 at
the age of 80. Born on June 13, 1944 in Kilrateera Mountshannon County Clare, Ireland,
Margaret was a cherished member of the Albert and Dillon families. She immigrated to New
York at the age of 20 and was crowned Irish Colleen in the St Patrick's Day parade in 1964
upon her arrival
Margaret was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family and
friends. She lived her life with grace, faith, and compassion, touching the lives of everyone she
met. She was proud of her Irish heritage and often shared stories of growing up on her Irish
farm, instilling a love of all things Ireland in those around her.
As a profession Margaret was a cook at St Dominic in Oyster Bay, NY and St Theresa of Avila in
Summit, NJ. Margaret dedicated her life to volunteering in her parishes, and at St Francis
hospital on Long Island. Her hobbies included daily mass, walking, attending activities at the
Irish American center in Minelola NY, dancing to Irish music, making Shepards Pie, hanging
with the stitch 'n snitchers, cruising, and spending time and babysitting her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Bridget Dillon, Husband William Albert,
Sister Marie Gilroy. Margaret is survived by her Brother Danny Dillon, Sister Brigid Pavlik,
Daughter Regina Walsh, Son Christopher, grandchildren Caitlin and Shane Walsh and Emmy
and Regan Albert, who will carry on her spirit and cherish her memory.
Convenient for her NJ friends and family, a funeral Mass will be held on:

them for a wake in her honor.
