John Digby was a collagist and poet. Born in London, he worked in his teens as a keeper at the London Zoo. Birds, animals, and books were his abiding passions and the greatest influence on his poetry and art. With his wife, Joan, he co-founded New Feral Press in Oyster Bay, where he lived and worked for 43 years. His collages were widely exhibited in the US, UK, France, and Korea. The press produced more than 400 titles of illustrated poetry and stories. There will be a celebration of his life and work in spring 2023. Friends can expect information after the new year.
