Eileen Sidor (nee Waite), aged 91, died after several complications of

the heart on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at VNS Hospice of Suffolk in the loving

presence of her daughters, her son-in-law, and her beloved dog, Lexi.

Born in Brooklyn on July 16, 1933, Eileen was the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth

(Martin) Waite, and the youngest of three children along with sister Eleanor, and her

hero, brother John. Eileen was the last of her generation, the matriarch, at the time of

her death.

Eileen came of age during wartime and danced her way through high school. She

married, moved to Forest Hills, then to Oyster Bay in 1964 where she raised her kids

and made many friends in the most beautiful village by the sea. She married her soul

mate, John Sidor, in 1987 and they laughed and danced together for the next 25 years.

Eileen worked in real estate for a time, worked as an office manager in several

chiropractic offices, but her favorite job was that of personal assistant to ex-son-in-law,

comedian Jackie Martling, booking him across the country and running his office. She

worked for Off Hour Rockers Comedy Productions for over ten years, until her

retirement in 2002.

She was a talented figure skater and she never stopped dancing. In her wheelchair

Mom was on the dance floor all night at Nancy and Bruce's wedding this past

September 7 th . It will remain a most cherished memory for all who were present.

Eileen will be so missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Nancy Sirianni-

Shulan and her husband, Bruce Shulan of Bayville and her daughter Megan Sirianni-

Brand of Delray Beach, FL; by her grandson Tristan Sirianni-Lerisse of San Diego, CA;

her stepchildren: Steven (Maria) Sidor, Susan (Jeff) McGuigan, Sharon Baltera, Robert

Sidor, and Kimberly (Rich) Tretola; and her loving surviving nieces and nephews. Eileen

was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband John Sidor, in 2012; by her oldest

daughter Donna Lee Howe in 2003; and by her stepson Bruce John Sidor in 2004.

Family and friends will gather to honor Eileen's memory at a Graveside Funeral Service

at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's

choice.
