Eileen Gordon, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Cedars Healthcare in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Born in Old Brookville, NY on March 1, 1929, she was the youngest daughter of the late John and Margaret Murphy.

Eileen worked in the Bayville and Locust Valley schools while her children were young and later at CW Post College. Once retired, she and her late husband, Richard Gordon, moved to Florida where Eileen worked in the offices of Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. Eileen always enjoyed telling people she "worked for the circus". Eileen loved reading and in her later years, listened to books on tape. She also enjoyed swimming, as well as playing a competitive game of cards, bocce ball and bowling with friends.

Eileen was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Gordon, sisters, Mary Pat DeBellis and Peggy Monahan and brother Jack Murphy.

Eileen is lovingly remembered by her son Richard Gordon of Maryland, NY, two daughters, Carol and husband Robert O'Flaherty of Candia, NH and June Gordon of Newmarket, NH; and her close friend Tammy of Newmarket, NH:  two grandchildren Timothy O'Flaherty and Kaitlin O'Flaherty; as well as four great grandchildren, Kyle O'Flaherty, Ryleigh O'Flaherty, Tyler O'Flaherty and Cameron O'Flaherty all of New Hampshire; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home, 293 South Street, Oyster Bay, NY on Thursday, 8/15 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 8/16 at 10:30 AM at the Chapel of St. Dominic Church in Oyster Bay, NY.
