IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dolores "Maureen"
Aquilino
September 24, 1935 – February 12, 2024
Dolores Maureen Aquilino, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and
friend passed away on Monday, February 12th in Reisterstown, MD, at the age of 88. She
was a feisty and spunky lady that adored her family more than anything in the world. She
will be greatly missed each and every day.
Dolores, or "Maureen" as she was known to friends and family, was born on September
24th, 1935 in Larksville, PA. She graduated from Larksville High School and remained
in the area until the very memorable year of 1958. This was the year Maureen would go
on to marry the love of her life, Louis Aquilino of Oyster Bay, NY. This little town on
Long Island became the place her family called home for many, many years. Prior to
starting her family, Maureen worked as an Administrative Assistant for Republic
Aviation from 1958 until 1964. During this time, Maureen and Louis became icons
within the Oyster Bay community as they regularly attended community events and
supported local causes. Her presence was always known as she made it a point to make
everyone in the room feel special. She made life-long friends in Oyster Bay - the kind of
friends that make you proud and stick with you until the end. Although, as proud as she
was of the life they had been building in Oyster Bay, it wasn't complete until her only
son, Timothy Aquilino, was born in 1965. At this point, she shifted her focus to being a
full-time mom to take care of Tim as he grew up. Of all the things she achieved in life,
Tim was, and always will be, her most proud accomplishment.
When Maureen wasn't busy taking care of her son, she spent as much time as she could
doing the things she loved. Whether it was watching nearly every Yankees game on TV
(and often yelling during the games), tearing it up on the dance floor with Louis, or
regularly attending and volunteering her time as a member of St. Dominic's Roman
Catholic Church, Maureen always had a zest for life that was truly palpable. As life
moved forward, so did Maureen and her family. Her son, Tim, began his family in
Maryland, while Maureen and Louis spent a lot of time traveling between Oyster Bay,
NY and Mountain Top, PA where they purchased and renovated a beautifully quaint
mountain home. After many years of hosting friends and family in their homes, they
decided to officially retire and relocate to somewhere warm; Longs, South Carolina. Just
as they had done in New York and Pennsylvania, Maureen and Louis quickly became a
staple in their community and built new friendships around every corner. She loved her
new life in South Carolina, especially when her family came to visit - and at the end of
the day, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was what made
her the happiest.
Maureen was the daughter of the late William Fisher and Theresa Fisher. She was also
preceded in death by her husband, Louis Vincent Aquilino, and her 10 siblings, Charlie,
Joseph, William, Thomas, James, Jack, Mary, Helen, Theresa and Anne. She is survived
by her sister, Joan Brehm (Englewood, FL); son, Timothy Michael Aquilino (Woodbine,
MD) and her daughter-in-law, Polly Ann Aquilino (Woodbine, MD); her grandchildren,
Joshua Davis Kidwell (Portland, ME), Timothy Michael Aquilino Jr. (Woodbine, MD),
and Haley Carol Good (Taneytown, MD); her great-granddaughter, June Masi Kidwell
(Portland, ME); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
