Obituary

Cheung Sun "Jobic" Pong, 90, formerly of East Norwich, NY on Monday May 16, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and his children, Will, Allen (Karen), Jack (Pinky) and Carol Smaha (Paul III); grandchildren, Christina Pong, Alex Pong, Katlyn Smaha, Paul Smaha IV, Jake Smaha, and Josh Smaha; step-children, Cynthia Kumamoto (Mike), William Young (Bonnie), and Ray Young (Sandy); step-grandchildren, Will Young (Janelle), Charissa Kumamoto, Caleb Kumamoto (Brandi), Holly Hartshome (Phil), Kelsey Young, and Michael Young; and step-great grandchildren, Miles Young, Ian Hartshome, Lane Hartshome, Lily and Eden Young, Maverick Kumamoto, and Eli Kumamoto. Jobic owned and ran the Hong Pong restaurant in Oyster Bay for several years. He was also a member of the East Norwich Volunteer Fire Company for 50 years. Visiting will be at the Francis P. DeVine Funeral Home on May 24, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. Firematic services at 6:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the East Norwich Volunteer Fire Company to honor his memory. Funeral Home Service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Locust Valley Cemetery.
