Catherine Mencke Jazwinski, 62, of Hampstead, NC, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

Cathy, as she was affectionately known, was born March 11, 1961, in Manhasset, Long Island, New York, daughter of the late Carl Henry Mencke and Harriet Powell Mencke. She was preceded in death by her brother Carl and her Beloved Father-In-Law Joseph.

Cathy, an accountant by trade, loved to make everything in life balance. She loved being a mother to Joseph. Teaching him to excel in reading, writing and mathematics. She loved showing him how to swim and to appreciate the water.

Cathy loved her work, quiet times and Friday Pizza night with her husband Peter. Cathy and Peter loved going away on an annual cruise on Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas. It was Brilliant!

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Peter Jazwinski; son, Joe Jazwinski, Liz DeMonte; mother-in-law, Christine; cousins, Leslie, Paul, Evie, Michael (Karen), Ingrid (John), and Karen (Robert); as well as so many friends (Judy, Jenn, Chad, Ellie, Keaton, Brenda, Michael, Fara, Mike Trish and countless others).

NORTH CAROLINA SERVICE INFORMATION:

The family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 6:00PM Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Andrews Hampstead Chapel.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at All Saints Catholic Church in Hampstead, with Msgr. Joseph Ntuwa officiating.

NEW YORK SERVICE INFORMATION:

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 9:00PM Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Francis P. Devine Funeral Home in Oyster Bay.

A Mass in Cathy's Honor will be held at 9:30AM Friday, September 1, 2023, at the chapel of St. Dominic Church in Oyster Bay, NY.
