Obituary

Barbara (McNamara) Gibson age 75, of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 7, 2021. Born September 9, 1946, in Glen Cove, New York, growing up in Oyster Bay was the only daughter of the late Thomas and Evelyn (Prach) McNamara.  Barbara is survived by her husband and soulmate of 55 years Gary, her two daughters and their spouses Stacey and Michael O'Brien, Gail and Thomas Donlan. Barbara has seven adoring grandchildren Alexandra, Robert, Ethan, Patrick, Rachel, Sean, and Kellen; four brothers Thomas (Corinne), Steven (Lise), Mark (Shani), Richard (Anne) and sister in law Christina; many loving nieces, nephews' cousins and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Christopher and her youngest daughter Laura Elizabeth.  Barbara has never met a stranger! She could go to the store for milk and come home with a friend forever! She was happiest surrounded by her friends and family. Barbara loved to travel, having her feet in the sand and swimming in the ocean. She and Gary would take a ride every Sunday to explore new places. Barbara was a ray of sunshine for all who knew her, she will be greatly missed!  Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home on Monday November 22, 2021 from 10 am until the time of service at 12:30; followed by burial at Brookville cemetery on 25A.  There will also be mass with family and friends to honor Barbara's life held at the Church of St. Benedict in Mohnton, PA on December 6th at 10:30 am.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Barbara to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.
