Barbara Marie Butler

Barbara Marie Butler (née Murphy) was born on August 29, 1938, in Glen Cove, New York. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 1, 2025.

On May 19, 1962, Barbara married the love of her life, Charles David Butler. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared a passion for dancing — something we imagine they are joyfully reunited in and doing once again.

Throughout her life, Barbara embraced creativity, curiosity, and learning. She loved to cook, listen to music, and dance. She created exquisite paintings on silk and later returned to college, graduating and going on to teach again, a testament to her passion for education and resilience. The door was always open for a meal or an ear for anyone, and she was passionate about equal rights, women's rights, and children's rights.

Barbara touched the lives of many with her warmth, talents, and grace. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
