Anthony "Tony" J. Simone was born June 20, 1918, in Long Island City to Italian immigrants. He spent his childhood in Bethpage, and later moved to Lindenhurst. He married Ethel, nee Auer, and had a daughter, Carol. Anthony enjoyed going out on his boat. He served in World War II on the USS Bennington and worked for Republic Aircraft in Farmingdale, retiring after 40 years. He passed away peacefully on August 19, 2018 at the Oyster Bay Manor Assisted Living Facility with his grandson, Andrew at his side. He is survived by two grandchildren, Gina Galgano Hoagland (Lee Hoagland) and Andrew Galgano III (Donna Galgano), and five great-grandchildren (Keith, Nathan and Simone Hoagland and Andy and Dana Galgano). He was pre-deceased by his daughter, wife, siblings and parents. He attributed his longevity to good genes, healthy eating, strong relationships and a little bit of luck.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that tributes be directed to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society in Memory of Anthony J.
