Anna Marie Gilroy, nee Dillon, passed away on August 29, 2023, at the age of 83. Marie was born in Scarriff, Co. Clare, Ireland, to parents James and Bridget (Moroney) Dillon.

Marie immigrated to the US in 1957 with the assistance of her Aunt Mary Moroney, originally settling in Huntington. She enjoyed many years living and working on the A.M. White estate in Oyster Bay Cove and her children have fond memories of living on Sunset Road. In later years, Marie became a home health aide and was employed by the Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island.

Marie was proud of her Irish heritage and spent countless hours at Irish step-dancing lessons, competitions, and performances with her children. She enjoyed the music and many friendships at the Irish American Center in Mineola and became an avid collector of Belleek Pottery.

Marie is survived by her children, Mary Ann Dolan and husband Paul, Sarah Gilroy and fiancé Kevin Smith, James Gilroy and wife Jill; grandchildren, Jonathan and Shannon Dolan, Berkeley (fiancé Theresa Repole) and Malachy Golon, Jack and Cole Gilroy; sisters, Brigid Pavlik and Margaret Albert, brother, Daniel Dillon; and many nieces and nephews in the US and Ireland. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Thomas Gilroy.

A private service was held on September 1st.
