Anita K. Strollo, aka “Grandma Flight,” 86, passed away on September 4, 2026.
A proud Brooklyn girl, Anita lived her life in Italy, Long Island, and New York City. She was a strong, independent woman who cared deeply for her family and brought her own unique humor and creativity to everything she did.
A graduate of Marymount College, where she attended on a full scholarship, Anita became a beloved teacher for more than 30 years. She was a favorite among many of her students, who remembered her fondly. After retiring, she pursued her passion for art as a self-taught artist, creating many beautiful paintings of which she was very proud.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer and Juliana, and their husbands, Keith and Terry; grandchildren, Luke and Lila; and her beloved grandcat and granddog, Rocco and Gizmo.
She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved. Her laughter, sense of humor, love, and presence will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
If you would like to make a contribution in Anita’s memory, her family suggests donations to Tudor City Greens, a magical park near her New York City apartment where she spent many happy hours.
